SQUINT ENTERTAINMENT REACHES AGREEMENT WITH THE INSYDERZ
NASHVILLE, TENN--Squint Entertainment has finalized an agreement with Detroit-based ska group The Insyderz to release their sophomore project (and Squint debut), "The Insyderz present Skalleluia."
The album, an 11 song collection of classic praise and worship songs, will feature such selections as "Awesome God," "Lord You're Beautiful," "Lord, I Lift Your Name On High," and seven others. The recording was produced by Gene Eugene (Plankeye, The Waiting).
"This record gives me great joy every time I listen to it," enthuses Squint Entertainment founder, Steve Taylor. "I've loved The Insyderz ever since first seeing them perform live, and I'm really impressed with their Christian commitment and heart for ministry. The band wanted to make a praise and worship album as a service to the Church, and I believe this is the type of record that can inspire a spirit of praise in a whole new generation of Christians. And if they're reading this, I want them to know I'm available on trombone for their tour."
Since the group's formation three years ago, The Insyderz have established themselves as one of the Christian community's principal ska bands, with sales of their debut, Motor City Ska, approaching 50,000.
The Insyderz perform approximately 150 shows each year. Included in their 1998 touring plans will be a 40-45 date tour with Plankeye, during which The Insyderz will feature songs from the praise and worship album. The "Insyderz present Skalleluia," which will be released through Word Distribution, has a March 3 street date.
