SIXPENCE NOMINATED FOR THREE DOVE AWARDS
NASHVILLE, TENN--Squint Entertainment recording artist Sixpence None the Richer was honored in three categories when the 29th Annual Dove Award nominations were announced at the Nashville Arena on February 17.
Sixpence None the Richer's new self-titled album was hailed in both the Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year categories. The band's multi-format hit "Love" received a nomination as the Modern Rock/Alternative Recorded Song of the Year.
The eponymous album established a successful CBA launch for Squint Entertainment as it entered Christian music's Soundscan chart at #8 in November via Word Distribution. Weeks later the album closed out '97 with the best sales week in Sixpence's history, Scanning almost 5,000 units. The band then opened '98 receiving 7ball Magazine's Critics' Choice for Album of the Year. Sixpence None the Richer's Squint debut is the follow-up to their Dove Award winning album, THIS BEAUTIFUL MESS.
SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER was released to general market outlets on February 10 through the Alternative Distribution Alliance.
